Lazy Semester

Here I sit... knowing that tomorrow I have to go to class. And then on Friday once more... but just for 3 hours. That's not too bad. Straight after is another free 2 days. Monday comes... and then I have another 2 free days. What joy!

It's like having two weekends... means no excuses for not doing work.

*grunt*

I nuked nearly a quarter of my internet quota getting soft copies of SW: KotOR and SW: KotOR - Rise of the Sith Lords just to be completly bored all over again after 1 playthrough on the lightside. I can't even motivate myself to go over the game hacking innocents with my ominously red saber.

I love video game violence. Who here loves video game violence?!

YEAAHH!!!

Feel like getting GTA:SA again or possibly purchasing a pre-owned GTA4 for the PC. Hmmm...

I'm outta gas. Peace.

Hopefully, The Beginning of the End

Well... here it is. The final sem of uni. Hopefully I can deal with the 5 subjects. No... I must deal with these 5 subjects. Although it is essentially 5 subjects, there are only four finals I need to attend, as per usual 'cause one of the subjects is one whole friggin' project over the semester.

Meh.

Last few days of the holidays were pretty alright. Palm and Elly came back along with a chick and her boyfriend that was new to Melbourne. A mutual friend of theirs hooked them up and somehow I got dragged along into the mix to babysit the newbies to get their stuff done. No worries... most people don't have the privelege of being shown around so courteously.

Not gonna bitch but there's one thing I gotta get off my chest. When complete strangers are giving you help... you gotta at least be a bit more thankful innit?

If some stranger took me out the whole day to help me get my banking done and get a new sim and learn the ropes in a whole new country I'd at least try to make the whole thing as hassle-free for them as possible.

Meh.

Last night had a huge dinner at Lazy Moe's... KW's idea. Some chinese chicks came over from Sunway. And as me and Abhi put it... it's like a Mandarin ochestra, pieces arranged by Hans Zimmer and led by John Williams. Literally the dinner table was divided in two... KW + chink chicks on one side and me and the other dudes on our side. Sad to say... there isn't one person that knew everyone's name on that table. People that come close to fit that criteria are probably me, KW and Aaron.

It was fun nonetheless!

Here's a fan-made Dissidia video. Totally epic. Props to the dude who did this man. Yeap... I can literally see what a geek I am.

Alright then. Have a great week in uni people. Peace.

The Hangover

Some people just can't handle Vegas

Actually I’m a bit overdue on this one but I’ve been kept occupied by a few matters and just plain ol’ procrastination.

Well, first off. The Hangover is most likely not shown in Malaysia. Just like Bruno. However, for Bruno the reasons are a lot more apparent. The prudes that make up the censorship board that banned Daredevil and changed “Hellboy” to “Super Sapiens” will definitely not allow a movie that sees excessive alcohol and partial substance abuse alongside a naked Chinese gangster with a potty mouth. So yeah, download it.

It’s actually been out in Australia for a few weeks now. Sometime close to the exam period… that’s about a bloody month ago!

But shit I’m glad I didn’t miss it. I recognize two of the actors of the four in this hilarious movie, one of the groomsmen and the groom. I can’t remember where I’ve seen the groom but the dude has played bit parts here and there, I’m damn sure. One of the groomsmen is Will from Alias or Jim Carrey’s best friend in Yes Man. Yeap.

This movie definitely goes down as one of the better comedies I’ve seen, if not, the best that I’ve seen, as it doesn’t rely on freakishly disgusting scenes, awkward sex, nasty incidents that stem from stoning or anything that comes to mind when you watch Eurotrip, Road Trip and any of the American Pie series.

The shit these 3 groomsmen have to go through because of their lack of memory of the previous night is hilarious. From stealing a police cruiser, Mike Tyson’s tiger, losing a tooth, marrying a stripper and “volunteering” for a tazer demonstration, the laughs start from beginning until the end.

Ol’ Spiky’s Rating – 5/5 This comedy sits right next to the comedy greats that I have watched.

Oh yeah… and just watch like, the 1st 5 minutes of the credits. Some of their other escapades of the night were caught on camera and the pictures will roll then. Freakin’ hilarious!

Alright then. School starts coming Monday. Not exactly damn thrilled but hey… it’s the last semester ever. Probably. Meh.

Peace.

Oh, How Time Flies

Yeap… I can’t believe. One long ass holiday is finally almost coming to an end. It’s like, weird that there’s only 7 days left before school restarts again.

Unfortunately for me, Monday I start earlier than most because of my extra 5th subject. No biggie. I still get Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Booya.

Final sem for the rest of my likely academic life. Wow. This’s some heavy shit right here, man. I’m sure most of you guys are in the same boat as me, man.

Oh yeah, no details, but I probably got shafted. I can’t say that I saw it coming but it’s always been a huge possibility. Hahahaha… Man… I hope at least honesty plays a role here. At least give me clear cut reasons and pure honesty instead of slinking back into the shadows hoping that the storm will pass. Not an accusation, just a suggestion.

Alrighty then. I’m out. Internet quota’s back up so I got shitloads of stuff to download.

Peace.

Just a few sentences I’d like to get off my chest.

Fuck you. Fuck you. And fuck you too.

He he. Ha ha. Ho ho.

That is all. Peace out y’all.

The Half Blood Prince

Ah, yes, the latest Harry Potter book to be made into a film. The one where Dumbledore dies. The one where Snape finally does his thing.

The one where all the snogging begins.

In a nutshell, the movie is absolutely terrible. Terrible, to say the least.

As usual, one must remember that the book in question is thick and heavy enough to knock the living daylights out of any poor soul on the receiving end, therefore realizing every scene and image onto film would be nothing short of a bankrupt-inducing budget.

But come on man… missing out Dumbledore’s funeral and altering every part of the story possible is just madness. Adding the destruction of the Burrow is even worse! I mean, that place’s gonna be the beginning of the next movie!

Anyways… don’t bother with this one. Don’t even waste your time downloading it. Watch it only if a TV falls right out of the sky, showing this movie and you really don’t have to do anything to watch it. Not even an ounce of effort or time should be put into attempting to watch this movie.

Yeap. It’s that damn bad.

If you’re a big Emma Watson fan. Fuck it. Get any chance you can get.

Peace out y’all.

P.S: There were 3 very chatty people behind us while we were watching this. By the part where Dumbledore and Harry're in the cave getting the locket they were "whispering" so loud that I turned around and told them I paid to watch the movie and suprisingly, a bloke next to them said, "Watch it then" and I said "Watching". Luckily that punk ass bitch knew what was good for him and didn't make a scene after the show. Mess with a yellow guy and you get a foot up your ass, white boy.

Sovereign Hill

Ahhhh… a befitting vacation for the financially-challenged.

To top it off, we got sweet results the night before and it just made the whole trip even sweeter. Although as usual, we are all never satisfied with what we had and had out little rants on how close we were to attaining a different score.

Ah well.

Sovereign Hill… what can I say? For starters, the journey there via the V-Line train was a first experience for most of us, maybe ‘cept Eric ‘cause apparently he went to Sydney via V-Line. That’s what he said ‘cause I am writing this in doubt.

On the way, the scenery was fantastic. The way the sun was peeking through the clouds was just… wow. It really makes you think if there’s something, someone out there that made this grand design… and how is this all possible? The majestic beauty of nature, so random yet so logical. So violent yet so elegant.

Crap, that last one got me going “o_0” and “What the hell is that?!”

Let’s take a look.

Dried up tree in wintertime

Sunlight peeking through the heavens

Misty flatlands

We got off at Ballarat station. Our special Gold Rush tickets include the bus ride there and it got us cheaper tickets too. Oh, and being students chops off another part of the entry fee. Sweet.

A map of Victoria's railways

Designs for some of the buildings

Welcome to Ballarat, lads.

"Should I even be sitting here?"

Posing in the bus

Weather wasn’t exactly at it’s best when we finally landed in Sovereign Hill. First off we checked out the Gold Museum. Outside there was a statue sitting down extending his hand. From the other stuff around him, I’d say he was a heavy drinker and smoker.

We’ll leave the dude alone for now. So we went in, got the tickets for the Gold Museum and Sovereign Hill itself and went around the Museum for a look-see.

Huge ass piece of gold

Smaller chunks of gold

Stuff they used to entertain themselves back then

The printing press they used back then

Drilling gear

And deeper into the museum there were a lot more amazing exhibits.

Mini figurines depicting smelting

Jason and the Golden Fleece

Midas - Anatomically correct

Old music box

They had some foreign stuff too. A little history on far their gold went, I suppose. Check it.

In the old days, this was a scale. DUH.

There's a joke somewhere here.

Teeny Japanese sculptures

Ancient badass Chinese sword

My personal fave, the Gold Bazooka.

Kang Wei auditioning for the role of Ben Gates in National Treasure 3

These dudes took some time checking the stuff they sold in the souvenir shop. Now that we’re done with the Gold Museum, it’s time to have fun with Mr. Statue outside.

*grin*

So we went in Sovereign Hill and we were greeted by another museum. I don’t think I’ll upload the pics here but everything else is in my Facebook album and you’re more than welcome to go check it.

*phew*

Finally, in Sovereign Hill!

Now, this place is built on a hill and it’s one tough climb all the motherfucking way up. The place is fashioned in the style of how the place might’ve looked like back in the say. So you got dudes wearing old army uniforms, ladies in dresses and frills that will make Prince envious.

They had a few events going on all the time in the place. Horse rides, a redcoat show, musket firing show and other shit I probably missed and don’t remember.

I definitely caught the musket firing show.

We travelled up the initial area a bit and stumbled upon the gold panning area. Basically it’s one dirty ass river where the water is running through the hill and possibly gold has washed through and into the river. So yeah, get pannin’ and you might find a speck (I can’t stress the word speck enough) of gold for your troubles.

Digging and panning for ye gold

It's not an easy job...

What's up the mountain.

Eric trying his luck

"Nah, this is the way you mine it..."

One dirty ass river where kids probably peed into

I personally didn’t bother. Just probably wanted to hammer Daniel or Eric in the head with the shovel.

Next up was a little underground voice-guided tour through a mine.

Funny part was when he stepped into the booth where someone greeted us. We entered in the order of Daniel, Eric, me and Kang Wei and the dude counted us out.

“1, 2, 3 and half”
*laughs*
“Head on in!”
“Come on half!”
“Fuck you, man!”

You can imagine who said what. Heh heh heh…

The underground tour was totally voice-guided and if my technophile knowledge serves me right, it’s triggered by motion sensors lined along the tunnels. So we weave through cramped tunnels and dimly-lit tunnels, with voices of an old man and a young boy narrating and talking the whole tour content to us.

Eventually we reach a part in the tunnel where a possibly holographic display shows how gold was found in Sovereign Hill. After that it was a nice climb back up to fresh air, sunshine and… rain. Fuck.

Fear not as it didn’t dampen our spirits.
So we decided to go have lunch and wait it out. I wonder is it part of the whole Sovereign Hill charade to be racist as well? Took them damned long to pass the menu and take our order. We were completely ignored until we demanded attention. Whatever. White people.

Next up we went into this theatre to regroup.

Gs in the house

Thinkin' about his future

Initially loads of people thought this was a ghost shot.

Since it was winter, there was a Frozen in Time thing going on all ‘round the place. So next stop was a little portable oversized freezer housing some ice sculptures.

A disappointing display really. Well, later we bought tickets for the Gold Mine tour which was one of the bigger main attractions and went on to see half of the gold pouring show.

The Gold Mine tour was fantastic. We went 100 feet below into the mine and saw how mining tools worked and shit like that. Not a bad experience.

By the time we got out it was almost closing time and Eric had to skedaddle to the Gold Museum to get some souvenirs so we followed him out.

Awesome day out despite the rain. And where there’s rain, there’s a rainbow that follows. In this case, two.

Beautiful.

Long post for a long day. Skipped out on loads of details but to hell with it. I’m out.

Peace out y’all.

P.S: Congrats to all the VU students that passed, especially the Sunway ones since you guys probably had to give ass and suck dick to pass. Good luck to the Monash students that are getting their results coming Friday!

Alright! That’s a Brace!

Booya! I passed everything! 1 D, 2 Cs and 1 P. 2-3 marks shy for my 2 Cs to become a D and I scraped through for the P only.

YEEAAHH!! THAT’S THE SHIT MAN!

If only someone saw me screaming in the dead of the night in my apartment while I was thumping my chest and celebrating as though I scored the final tie-breaking goal for an underdog team in the World Cup.

I am dead serious about the mini-celebration I had.

I can’t say I did as well as the other chaps but I stopped comparing results after high school ‘cause it doesn’t matter anymore.

YEEAAAHHH!!!!!

God it feels good.

Nickelback has never sounded this good in the morning and the darkness that the dawn breaks has never been faster to retreat. If only someone can see this smug smile on my face.

I just woke up so I think I’ll do another celebration. WHEEEE~

Going to Sovereign Hill today. Should be an a’ite trip but as usual, and the way I am accustomed to, we’re flying blind. Bada musti.

Okay then, I’m out.

Peace out y’all.

By the Stroke of Midnight

Damn it… The results are coming out tomorrow. I hope the folks that are marking my exam papers were as fun-loving as my lecturers. Not gonna make any predictions. I just hope that I pass everything and that’s my hope for every paper, every semester.

Oh, did I tell you lads that next semester I’m doing 5 subjects ‘cause I failed one last year? Yeap… I think I did. This’s going to be fun…

If all goes well, I’ll be on a little road trip to Sovereign Hill on Monday as well. It’s not going to be much a shindig but I just want to go somewhere man.

Let’s see if even that happens.

So… anyone got other interesting holiday stories to share? Anyone pranked someone else to watch Bruno? No? Dang.

Alrighty then. Peace out y’all.

P.S: I am just addicted to this cover of the Simpson’s theme by Green Day that they did for the Simpsons movie, which is funnier than the 1st time I watched it.

Glow In the Dark Party at Seven

Well, here’re the pics I promised. Seems like a real sausage fest but most of the chick pics are in the album and not with me. I just took the ones that had me in it off Facebook. Enjoy mates.

I can’t distinctly remember if I had said this but the Dissidia release date for Australia has been forwarded to the 3rd of September instead of following the EU’s release date, which was 25th of September. Booya!

EB Games’ also offering a buttload of goodies along with the regular game, for a hefty sum of course but yours truly will gladly pay the price for some kick ass Final Fantasy gear!

Hmm… let’s see. It’s been a boring past few days. A few sleepless nights and junk. Rented a few movies from Video Ezy ‘cause my quota’s out again. I rented out the Day After Tomorrow, Minority Report and Die Another Day. I think that’s the only Pierce Brosnan Bond movie that I missed out on. Not bad… but were the characters all that cheesy back then? I think I just got used to the Daniel Craig Bond, that kicks ass 1st, asks questions later.

Day After Tomorrow remains one of my top fave disaster movies after, right after the Sinking of Japan and then Twister. So picking that flick was a no-brainer.

Minority Report… I wasn’t so sure why I picked that one but I remember it was quite a big deal, back in the day and after I watched it, I understood why. It’s definitely one of Tom Cruise’s better work. Story’s wicked and the plot’s not exactly mindblowing but it does the job well.

What else… Oh yeah. I got the approval for doing 5 subjects this coming semester ‘cause apparently it’s Priority 1 that an international student finish his course on time because he’s got a visa date to adhere to. I still get a 3-day week in class but the hours for each day aren’t exactly spiffing. Then again, it’s just 15 hours per week. I used to do 20 plus back in Sunway because of their jackass workshops. So… I can’t really complain.

I guess that’s it. Until next time.

Peace out y’all.
