Twilight of Past, Dawn of the Future

Ah, we’ve come to the end of another glorious year. Alright, glorious seems like a wrong word but alas, this year has had its fair share of joy and sorrow. I don’t know about you guys but I found that 19 was a really odd age. It seriously is the final year of being a teenager and the year before you realize you’ve been mucking about on this planet for 2 friggin’ decades! For some or most of you that are reading this junk, you probably had wrapped up your first year of university already. I wouldn’t go as far as to say to give yourself a pat on the back but hey, we made it!

Squinting Down That Dark Lane

Freakin’ shit it’s been one hell of year for me. I wouldn’t say I have achieved a LOT in positive aspects but I sure as hell had achieved (kinda the wrong word) a lot in negative aspects. I doubt I need to elaborate on this, now, do I? I noticed this year especially that a lot of people that I’ve come across and had befriended over the past say… 5 years have started to drift away. This certain friend of mine, started joining all these uh, funny “business” groups and started to yank people in to join him and sell stuff. Yeah, that kind of shit. Amway or AmCorp or whatever the heck it is. Damn… You guys ever came across these people? Whatever things that were told to get this people to join and sell their stuff, they were probably told to annoy the shit right outta yer system and stuff it back in nice and slow. Graphic, yeah, but I bet you’d feel the same way when someone close tries to pull that on you.

*ahem*

Other than that, it’s been roughly 8 months since the passing of Chee King. Weird how time creeps up on you, doesn’t it? One moment you’re there at the crash site. Next thing you know you’re in class, 6 months later. Well, other than that, I would say that I really thoroughly enjoyed myself this year. May pale in comparison with these other things but sometimes, you will be grateful for these little things in life. Trust me.

Staring into the Sunrise

I’m half expecting a rough year ahead in VU ‘cause it is, after all, the 2nd year. The stakes will be raised again and more work will be needed. It’ll also be the 1st year and probably the only year where I’m living away from home with my brother. Everyone else has moved out into separate apartments in the 7th floor but hopefully it’ll be the same as it always has been, having fun into the wee hours of the night and talking crap. Moments that I feel sorry for those who have to live with their family while attending university.

MUAHAHAHHA

*ahem*

Sorry.

Anyways, I guess that’s all from the top of my head. Have a Happy New Year and here’s to those who made resolutions and are trying like wounded dogs to fulfill them. *grin*

Cheers.

Peace out y’all.

Season’s Greetings

Clichéd title but hey, who’s trying? Damn, it’s been so long since I’ve actually blogged because I’ve rather preoccupied with the PS2 and a dash of DoTA here and there. Yeah, some of you might have heard that I’ve “retired” from it but I’m just playing for fun on my own house LAN, not with those glory crazy Blueserver players. I wonder if they ever heard of gaming-related deaths. It should open up their eyes a bit.

=P

Heh heh heh… Anyways, I managed to pass my ADM supplementary exam! Finally I can wake up every morning without having to worry… Wait, come to think of it, I’ve never worried much about it but ANYWAYS, the point is that I passed!

Time Spent

Damn… I’ve wasted so many hours in a day just sitting in front of the PS2 just playing and playing and playing Yu-Gi-Oh GX Tag Force Evolution and the GoW series. I doubt I’ll need to upgrade my computers to play new PC games now that I am so freakin’ preoccupied with these games. Damn. I doubt there’ll be much (or any) new games for the PS2 anytime soon as the next gen consoles are already out. Wei Shiarn asked me the other day if Neverwinter Nights 2 was nice or not but I think I didn’t manage to reply him. I think it should be good. I heard some good reviews about it and the graphics look really nice. I remember buying the 1st Neverwinter Nights game and the graphics were horrendous (Duh) and the character creation/management system just zonked me out. Waaahaaayyy too complicated even for a RPG fan like me. I keep having plans to play certain games but in the end it just never manages to pan out. *sigh*

In The News Today…

I have to admit that I don’t even buy papers to read while I’m in Sunway unless I HAPPEN to pass by a shop that sells the papers. Well, I get me news from me mum and it all never seems to be delightful but some entertaining. Anyways, the stuff that I’ve been reading in the papers these days (or rather, the past year/2 years) are usually either about tragedies, crime or all that negative stuff. Rarely there are good things ‘cept maybe Rain breaking his arm, Clay Aiken losing a fight to a woman in an airplane or various country representatives ganging up on America’s representative for being such a little whiny bitch. Anyways, the point that I’m trying to get across is that the news gets much more depressing and depressing with each passing day. If there isn’t a flood somewhere, it’s got to be some poor lad ran over by a truck or a corrupt government official(s) pulling the usual stunts. You got to have this feeling that some weird vague religious/cryptic advice you hear somewhere either on TV or some religious text or some baldy is actually some real shit that we can all relate too. I hope you understand these insane rantings of mine. I just can’t seem to find the words to describe this… feeling.

It’s Been a Rough Year, Entertainment-Wise

Has it? You tell me, man. I, for one, think that the movies this year were leaning on both sides of the fence. There were some that sucked ass big time (Beowulf, Fantastic Four 2, Spiderman 3 and perhaps Rogue Assassin) and there were some that really blew us all away (Transformers and uh… Geez... Can anything top this badass?). For music… Shit… I have no idea man… LP’s Minutes to Midnight seriously disappointed me. Velvet Revolver’s Libertad even more so and annoying tween/non-tween pop music seems to be a huge favourite to some people. Some are good and some are just freaking annoying! There is nothing in the world I wouldn’t give for a chance to shoot Rihanna and Sean Kingston dead. There are only so many times a song can be played on air and hyped about, seriously. I don’t know about you guys, but I think it’s sad to see that people are going for simplified machine-made music and eye candy to be huge players in deciding what song is good and what isn’t. Here’s to hoping to a better year in music and movies and 2008.

Cheers.

Peace out y’all. Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to U-Jun before I forget!

Oh, Sweet Retribution Indeed

I don't know if you guys heard this song or seen this video before but it is a cover of that annoyingly idiotic Rihanna *shudder* song, Umbrella by an Italian band called Vanilla Sky. Yeah, the one that goes ella-eh-eh-eh and the one where she dances semi-erotically with an umbrella and the one that can't be saved although Jay-Z had like, what, 5-15 seconds of rapping. Yeah. Anyways, here's the video. Good shit for those Umbrella/Rihanna-hating people out there. I know a few and you'll definitely enjoy this.

Really gay yeah, but nonetheless, I love this guys for making fun of her. All hail Vanilla Sky. The video really reminded me of the "All the Small Things" video by Blink182 where they spoofed all those cliched boyband videos.

RESULTS *gasp*

It ain't as beautiful as the women I've been checking out on the internet for the past 2-3 weeks but it's a'ite. Luckily I passed my Macroecons 'cause that was the one that I feared that I would most likely fail at. Got a distinction for my ISB which was quite a lucky break as I did limited studying while "intoxicated" due to my Redbull marathon. Unfortunately and ironicly enough, I failed my ADM! Gatzooks! 4% short of a pass. Confound it all. Well, luckily enough VU has the policy of giving us all second chances through supplementary tests. Therefore, I shall be heading back to Sunway coming Wednesday seeing as the test is at 8 freakin' A.M on Thursday. I've been studying since Monday (results day) up 'til now where there isn't much left in the green book to do and I'm taking it slower. Wish me the best of luck so I can continue enjoying whatever semblance of a holiday this is.

I Wanna Grow Up to Be a Hitman!

Seriously, after finishing Hitman: Contracts. Yeah, pretty old game for some people but I bought it like a year or two ago and never managed to get past one stage. Forgot which was it. Oh right, Deadly Cargo. Anyways, I just finished it like, twice. First time through I shot everything that walked and basically amassed quite a large streak in the aggression bar and the second time, I used guides to get the coveted Silent Assasin rank to unlock new weapons. Hoo boy... Although I read that most levels in this game are remakes of levels of the first game, I didn't mind since this is the 1st Hitman game I've played all my life.

*gasp*

I can see avid gamers throwing rotten tomatoes at me.

*God damn!*

Anyways, I'm still trying to get my computer upgraded as usual and play the latest games and of course, the most recent Hitman game, Blood Money. If that doesn't pan out, I still have the hope of the PS2s I sent for repairs to fall back onto. If that doesn't work out as well, I'm back to downloading games from the last half of this decade or last millenium. Old is gold, they said. A'ite then, happy holidays, happy shopping for those gearing up for X-mas, and...

Side Note: Did you read the news about a shopping mall firing a man posing as Santa Claus saying "ho ho ho" as it was possible that female shoppers were going to be offended? Shit.

... happy gaming to those who are. Peace out y'all.
