HINDRAF - A Deeper Insight on My Part

Alright, some people are definitely starting to get a bit edgy here on Beneath the Thorns. Let me *ahem* clarify a few things beforehand.

I, shall always be a critique of M'sia. I love the country but I don't have to love the way it works. I love my roti canai, teh tarik, nasi lemak and char kuay teow like you and everyone else.

I, shall always be an asshole. Deal with it.

There, that was simple. Seriously, it's hard to write about sensitive issues especially you want a dash of sarcasm in it. Tough crowd.

Anyways, I did a bit more digging into this HINDRAF thing. It's seriously scary. Note that I am merely a 19 year old kid shooting my mouth off so bear with me. *grin* The inconsistency in the reports of what the police have done and basically all the carnage that has been unleashed is terrifying! It's beginning to look more and more grim as I continue digging into the news, blog archives and shit like that. I've been watching way too much TV, man. Words like government conspiracy, double-standards and martial law are flitting in my head as though they're moths and my brain's a light. Like I said before, I hope that this whole thing gets resolved soon enough before more lives are lost and the peace and serenity of this country is lost. Peace out y'all!

HINDRAF - Carnage in the Country

'Tis a most controversial subject especially it involves sensitive matters within the country but what I will or might say will probably or already has been said by our politicians. It's a bit spooky to see such carnage in the streets after we've all seen violence in other countries and stuff like that on the TV and we say, "Luckily M'sia is peaceful,". This latest riot definitely reset my synapses a few good notches back and makes me grateful that our country is much more peaceful than other countries (Before this HINDRAF thing la). Sure we might have our fair share of lady boys like Thailand and drugs like in Jamaica (unfortunately, it's legal there and it ain't here) but at least we aren't participating in brainless wars over "holy land" and "against terrorism". Note that I am speaking in a sarcastic tone. Anyways, this HINDRAF thing sure was orchestrated by a rather sly fellow. Preying on man's primal and basic instincts, namely, GREED. You gotta hand it to that guy. Shit, word has it he's a lawyer. Nooowww, we didn't see something that sneaky, backhanded and sly come, now, did we? Nooooo... Whatever he said to rouse his machans up sure did work and I'm sure he compared their fate as of now to the fate of other slaves that were brought into M'sia during the old days. I think we all know what sets us apart is not only skin color and a loving for noodles or coconut oil, depending on which side you're deciding to compare with first. Anyways... This whole thing kinda screamed "REPERATIONS" in my head and I seriously couldn't help but think about DAVE CHAPELLE'S skit, the Black Reparations Skit, that is. For those who haven't watched that episode of the Dave Chapelle show, just go to YouTube and look for Black Reparations. I think you should find it. Anyways, the skit was all about the scenario of what would happen if black people got their reparations for the slavery of their forefathers. So, in Chapelle style, they've done everything a black man could've possibly done with money.

Namely,

1. Send the market into chaos by buying tons of bling-bling, fried chicken, Cadillacs ( this I don't get it) and starting record labels by the minute.
2. Buying a truckload of cigarettes
3. Quitting their jobs in fashion
4. Colin Powell bitch-slapping Dick Cheney

Nuff' said. Imagine the scenario of HINDRAF getting their way and getting their millions of dollars/pounds/ringgits. Shit. You imagine it, man. If I write this shit down, by the time the ISA's done with me, let's just say I'll never have constipation problems again. Hopefully this HINDRAF thing will be all done with and long forgotten about.

Of Senility Regarding Triviality

Alright, this morning during breakfast, after putting some butter/margarine (I don't bother with the difference anymore) on my bread, I stuck the butter knife into the butter. Done and done, a'ite? So me grandma comes along, sits down and starts lecturing me about why I shouldn't put the knife in the butter. She started saying if I couldn't put it properly, how could I study? WTF, right? SERIOUSLY. Suddenly she starts talking about how she wish she doesn't need to nag and she says hopefully she will die so she will stop nagging us and blablabla... Shit, dude. That's going over the moon, innit? I mean, if you nag us about something IMPORTANT, that would be a'ite, but for a butter knife being in the butter?! Hold on. Lemme go smash my head on the toilet seat.

*crash*

*tinkle*

*wipes debris off*

There we go. All sane again.

DUDE. COME ON. Seriously, does that ever happen to you guys? Alright, another example, back in Seri Putera, I borrowed/lent (Still can't tell which is which) a Harry Potter book to Eugene and there was this teacher, who has the uh, something uh, student related but not the "Hal-Ehwal Murid" dude but something like that. He was a large (We talking LARGE) Malay fella. Had hair that would've made Hollywood's Fashion Criminals list. Side parting that curled all the way to the back and ended in curls that looked like those wigs that judges would wear in those old Canto/TVB dramas. Couldn't speak two words of English to save his life (How did he get his JOB?! Oh right, we're in MALAYSIA. Totally forgot. Haha. Silly me) and was pretty much a senior staff member. He was our P.Moral teacher.

*groan*

The horrible memories of ranting and raving over and over about the pointless-ness of this @#$%^&* subject.

I can't really remember why or how he got hold of the book. I think Eugene was reading it in class or something. Anyways, we went later to his office and begged for him to return the book on grounds that we wouldn't do it again. Classic. His grounds on not returning it? Apparently if we couldn't follow orders now, we would be criminals in the future. In half an hour's time, our rule-breaking actions were compared to crime's most dastardly feats, ranging from snatch theft to shoplifting to rape to embassy bombings and it seems that we would be doing all this jazz in the near future if he returned it there and then. Did his dad touch him when he was a kid?! AMAZING. Terribly amazing. *sarcastic tone* I am sorry I ever insulted the Malaysian education system. It has done it's job on this fine man.

Seriously, the point is that senile people can be dickheads. Not because they want to, it's because they're senile. So, smile, ignore and pretend you're listening to your Jurassic-era relatives and teachers/lectures/tutors. It works.

*grin*

Oh yeah, one random thing that I wanted to type out before I forget. During my 2nd last day in Sunway, we went to play pool at the place above Pyramid lanes. They have rules for customers to have a certain dress code, like wearing shoes, pants and etc, etc. So, me, Altaf, Taqi and Saad went and the lady at the counter suddenly asked Altaf to stop playing as he was wearing a sleeveless top. We asked if she could borrow him a shirt to be worn so she handed him a COAT. Alright... It sure did look funny, dude in a coat, track pants and loafers playing pool. It looked something like this...

HEHEHEHEHEHHE...

I guess that's all for now. Peace out y'all.

Honey I'm Home Part 2

Alright... I promised I would write more and I shall! Well, there's quite a bit left to be discussed about what has happened over the past few weeks that I haven't been blogging like people moving in and moving out, plans for next year and stuff like that.

Roster Changes

Rushdi's friends from Dubai, Taqi and Saad who were studying previously in KLIUC shifted over to Sunway. Taqi had a more legit reason as his dad retired and that meant a smaller college fund. So, the lad decided to switch over to Sunway and take ACCA. Huge leap in career choice as he was previously gunning for engineering. Saad shifted mainly because uh... Taqi shifted. Nothing much regarding cash but also that he had an interest in one certain lass that was studying in Monash. Nuff' said, eh? Anyways, bottom line is that they've permanently settled down in Sunway and their finals are approaching, namely next month. So, good luck guys!

Leaving/ Left For the Holidays

Without doubt that the year-end holidays are coming, a whole bunch of these guys left the country way before I finished my finals so they all had their fun and I had to study. Curse you VU. Rushdi left the earliest as he could do his finals in Dubai. I can't remember how but I guess that's one of the conveniences of studying in ACCA, I guess. Shakir, Piumi and Rikaz left on the same day, different times. People that I weren't really familiar but more or less in the gang also left relatively early.

*sigh*

M'sia's starting to get a tad boring. I wonder how it's going to be after everything's over?

Flying the Coop

Seeing as various people are coming next year for *ahem* the ever-infuriating pursue of higher education, new rosters have been set up and people are moving out and moving in. Most unfortunately, all these guys are moving out of 710 and different places all over the 7th floor. Kinda sad but still, it'll be a tad refreshing to have such a huge place all to myself and my brother who is going to join MUFY coming March. Don't ask why me mum didn't make him join CIMP. I've already flung countless arguments and insults at her that would make the pope throw his staff at me. We'll see what happens.

This definitely isn't all that happened but unfortunately I need some pictures to illustrate my points for the other events and I don't have them on hand as of now. Currently they're all residing in a memory card somewhere in SL. Hopefully Shakir will upload and send them soon. Grrr...

Holidays are as boring as usual and I sneaked off to Sunway yesterday to sign 706's tenancy contract. Heh heh heh... Well, I guess that's all I CAN say for now. I hope I can get some new material regarding the whole HINDRAF situation that has brewed up in KL recently. Until then, peace out y'all!

Honey, I'm Home Part 1

Oh God... I finally dragged myself to BLOG! It's been so long... Actually, dating from my last post, it's EXACTLY 1 month since I posted anything... Damn... God, I've got so many things to talk about... Finals, of course, plans for next years, movies, music, Kundy, friends and families and so so much more that I just have no idea where to begin! I'll just go with Kundy since I miss him the most now that I'm back in Ipoh.

KUNDY!

I miss that bastard so much! He's gotten so much more calmer and sweet now that he's a bit too mature. Rushdi says that this isn't his maximum size yet and he can grow bigger. He's gained a bit of weight now so he looks really cute. Seriously... Everything that he does nowadays (besides biting and scratching the hell out of us) is just cute! He recently lost a tooth while biting my blanket or towel while he was taking his usual nap on my bed and he became so so so much more calmer since then. Here're some photos of the lad, before and after...

This picture was taken around mid-year.

This picture was taken maybe... 2 weeks back. He's quite large compared to last time!

Slow Season

It's been one for the movies scene, that's one thing for sure. There's nothing much that's in the "Must-See" list but there were some rather good movies among the incredibly crappy ones. Shoot Em' Up seems like a violent gun-blazing ride like Smokin' Aces so I think I'll just download it and Balls of Fury seems to be in the similar category of that Kung Pao movie which was basically a better-budgeted version of MTV's Kung Faux series. Beowulf seems to be a must watch for some people but I've heard some bad reviews as well. I'll most likely check it out after I get with this accursed flu. I seriously never remembered flu to be so damn bad... Shit. Oh right, Bee Movie is awesome! The plot of a bee who tries to be a non-conformist eventually blows up in his face and eventually leads to him reverting back to being a, well, bee. Kind of sends out a rather negative message, doesn't it? It's like telling everyone to conform and be part of the rat race and nothing more. You could say that Bee Movie is a honey-coated (pun-intended) subliminal message to people around the world. As for the upcoming movies for next year, The Dark Knight and Iron Man definitely top my list and the upcoming Hitman movie which, unfortunately, doesn't star Jason Statham of The Transpoter fame, is also on my list. Good stuff, folks.

HSM

HSM is the abbreviation for the (in my honest opinion la) shockingly famous High School Musical movies. I seriously wonder who and what Disney was targeting. Obviously it'd be teenagers since you have the likes of over-exaggerated pretty boys and pretty girls such as Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron as the lead stars. Crappy feel-good songs and an unrealistic plot definitely don't attract the teenagers of today unless they're way behind schedule in their mental and physical growth. Y'know, maybe it isn't as famous as I think it is but Disney is actually blowing out half of Fort Knox's gold reserves to market the movies, characters and whatever concepts they made for the show. Hell, Malaysia even advertised that they dubbed the damn thing totally into Malay! I sure as hell know that Malaysians are idiots but still, HSM?!
Man, forget it, nuff' said.

The End of the End

A bit way overdue but yeah, I'm done for the finals! Although I fooled around (ie: skipped classes and ditched homework) the whole semester, I think I'm going to do pretty well this time around. Trust me, for all the exams so far, I've been working like a dog for them to make up for lost time! And fuck, it works! All the subjects that I didn't have confidence in like accounting, ISB and Marketing were somehow easier than I expected. It's either due to the Red Bull marathon that I had for each exam preparation session really does work wonders or the highly-unlikely fact that I am a born-genius that made it easy. I'm telling you, I walked in smiling and I walked out smiling for all those 3 exams! However, for the 4th one, the Macroecons paper raped me in the ass so hard that those plastic buckets you use when you wash your clothes are half-full with blood. Seriously, there was blood POURING off the edge of my seat in the exam hall. I seriously didn't think it was that damn TOUGH! Verdict is that I'm gonna be lucky if I manage the supplementary test and a miracle if I pass. The idea of grabbing a form for summer school after the exam seemed like the best thing to do after I walked out with a bright red patch on the back of my pants and caked blood on my heels. Ah well, what's done is done like everyone says. The results are out on the 3rd of December and supplementary tests and summer school starts a week after the results are out. Scary...

Strike Noir Gundam - Master Grade

This model kit cost me 180+ ringgits! An unwise investment for some and treasure to others. It took me a whole grueling 6 hours to built this baby from head to body to arms to legs to weapons to Striker pack. Most unfortunately I lost a decorative piece for the Striker Pack. Damn. I still haven't found it yet and I was even contemplating on slicing Kundy's stomach open to see whether he ate it. Anyways, here're some pics of the beauty that emerged after I was done.

Magnificent. Absolutely gorgeous. Trust me, it is money well spent. I think I've spent almost 1.5K altogether for my Gundams and I think I'm about to spend a lot more now that Gundam 00 is out and I haven't bought the rest of the Phantom Pain crew that accompanies Strike Noir that is Blu Duel and Verde Buster.

The new net craze - Facebook

Alright, not really new but I feel that this socializing site has taken the net by storm faster than any similar site such as Friendster, Orkut, High 5 and so on. At first, like every other chink and M'sian, I joined Friendster first. Compared to Facebook, Friendster is mediocre-ly entertaining at best. Heck, after spending a good 6 months + on FB, I quit Friendster recently. Since almost everyone that I wasn't avoiding or hate had join Facebook, staying on Friendster was kinda pointless. I can't really say that I quit Friendster 'cause it was wasting my time but I think I did it 'cause I felt it was sending out a message that well, Friendster SUCKS! Muahahaha... Anyways, people, join FB soon and add me! You know how to find me.

Alright, the flu is tiring me out like nuts. I have loads more to post, pictures and the such! Until then, peace out y'all!
