Meet The Spartans

Yup, I just watched it. I'm a sucker for these movies. In the back of my head I know it's going to be bad, yet I still watch it. Thankfully this was better than Epic Movie. It's still disgusting. It's still full of sick humour. And it sure as hell doesn't pull any punches when it comes to insults. Yeah, it's definitely the voice deep down in that pool of sarcasm of yours that just wants to scream out.

Alright~

Well, there's nothing much to say about this movie really, the plot is basically 300 meets the Wayan Brothers. Well, not that it's directed by them, but you get it. Man, screw this review. It's just outlandish. Watch it if you have spare cash or just need a laugh. It's horribly edited, though. Malaysian censors ain't no craftsmen with the almighty censor scissors, that's for sure.

I'll Tell You What's Funny...

I've lived in this area for roughly 3-4 years now. I had a vague feeling that this area was more than what it seemed. Seriously. How the hell did I miss the fact that I'm living in the nest of PAS supporters? And it seems that Keadilan area is just opposite. Now I know how CJ felt when he was ditched in Ballas territory. This banner on one of the houses gave it away. Laugh, point or yell at this, I don't really care. I just found it silly and humorous. Peace out y'all.

Ho..Hold On

Wait up just a second. Heath Ledger's freakin' dead? I can't say I'm a fan but I've wanted to watch Brokeback Mountain for a good laugh but man, this guy's young! (So was Benoit but ah, well) In case you have trouble putting the name to a face, here's how he looks like.

Woops, maybe not. This is how he'll look like potraying the Joker

Recognize him yet? The gay cowboy...?

Condolences to sobbing girls all over the world and of course his family but funnily enough, the only thing I was concerned about the issue of this homosexual cowboy riding into the sun was... well, pretty much, whether or not he finished shooting the upcoming Batman movie, the Dark Knight.

Yeah, heartless 'ol me.

I doubt the dude wanted to die knowing that he shot a superhero film last but not a lot of people have that privilege, come to think of it.

Oh, and those living nearby Indian temples, expect mountains of trash! God knows how these Indians make such a mess! Should be listed as a phenomena above all else, seriously.

Peace out y'all.

Awesome~ Another Public Holiday

Well, not that it matters as I have, say… a month left before VU restarts. I think it was a rather predictable and well-placed move to have Thaipusam declared a public holiday. His reasons being related to traffic jams were somewhat lame in my opinion but nevertheless logical. I would say he’s doing this ‘cause of recent *ahem* happenings in the country. Wouldn’t blame him for trying to keep his head off the chopping block, eh? All I can remember about Thaipusam is heaps of rubbish nearby temple areas and self-mutilation *ahem*, I mean, surrendering yourself to your god and mind over matter and all that jazz. Is it the one with the fire walking as well or was that something else? Ah well, whatever.

Epic Movie 2

Or as the producers and marketers prefer to call it, Meet The Spartans. Mainly this is due to the flop of the first epic movie.

It was actually WORSE than Narnia! *GOD DAMN*

It’s coming out this Friday, it memory serves me right. I hope to catch it within a week’s time. So far the trailer seems awesome, centering around 300 and spoofing various movies along the way, Stomp the Yard, Spidey 3 and Happy Feet, to name a few. They also pull no punches for the reality TV series, such as The Apprentice, America’s Next Top Model and American Idol. There are 2 trailers I’ve seen so far. All depicting “Leonidas” kicking as much people as possible into the pit, like that Indian American Idol contestant nutcase with outlandish hair and of course, a Britney Spears look-a-like. Hopefully it won’t fail to please.

You can check them trailers:

Oh right, I’m heading to Sunway for a *short* visit coming Monday. This time, mum-approved. She caught me the last time I went and the outcome of the lecture was MUCH, MUCH better than I hoped for.

Peace out y’all.

CLOVERFIELD

Spoilers Ahead

Now, this is one movie, I thanked myself for not looking up on the net. I haven't seen any of the trailers whatsoever or gave much notice of the teaser posters, seeing as it reminded me of "Lusa", that grimly realistic and apocalyptic disaster movie. However, Cloverfield was far away from that.

Seeing as J.J Abrams (did I spell that right?) was the creator of such award-winning series such as Lost and Alias, one would expect a similar degree of sinister mystery in the storyline. I went into that cinema not knowing what the hell I was going to watch and I had no expectations whatsoever.

And hell, it was worth not knowing.

The movie starts off at a slow pace, depicting a man called Hud filming a documentary slash goodbye video for his best friend because he is leaving soon to Japan. What follows is typical (and very soppy) shit that the O.C, One Three Hill and Dawson’s Creek strive for. Mind you, the whole damn movie is shot from the perspective of the cameraman. Those who have weak tolerance to so much spinning around should avoid this one. For those who have spent the better half of their schooldays playing CS and Half-Life, this one should be another walk in the park. The monotony is soon broken abruptly as the power is out for like, 2 minutes and comes back on. Startled party guests switch on the TV to the news channel to find out that an oil tanker was sunk at the nearby New York port. It so happens that this party was in the vicinity so they rush to the roof to catch a glimpse of the action.

I saw a tail swishing around in beyond the buildings on the screen and I thought to myself, “Shit, this is some Godzilla shit”. As the movie went on, more and more of the monster was revealed and I’m telling you, it’s something that we’ve all never seen before. Some of you reading this might be thinking, “Shit, it’s a monster flick? Fuck it”. Nah, man. It ain’t that simple. Abrams definitely keeps everyone in the dark. Throughout the whole movie, nobody knows what the hell is going on or what the hell that thing was. Not the military and not the audience. That definitely made the movie worth watching, in my opinion. Sad to say, in the end, everybody dies, one by one in their own horrible fashion.

Cloverfield gets a 5 outta 5 from me, that’s fer sure.

Peace out y’all.

Welcome, Ladies and Gents

Welcome indeed, to another sappy new year. For those who have made new year's resolutions, good luck! For those who didn't, good show! Alright, some numbskulls wouldn't understand what was all thatr but anyways, here we are in 2008! Although some of us are still plaugued by events from yesteryear, rest easy knowing that it's never too late as long as there is still time. It's the beginning of the year and there's still plenty of time left to amend things gone wrong and the such.

This post doesn't really have much points to throw around, 'cept maybe some recent events that have happened in the nation (which most if not, all readers, if there are any, don't care about).

*cough*

I got a letter from VU yesterday and it was really old stuff. It was stamped by the post office on New Year's Eve but the contents were my pre-supplementary exam results. Kinda freaked me out a bit when I saw that my ADM grade was still a N and not a P until I looked at the date the paper was printed.

Hmm... I really want to watch AVP2 but I can't seem to get a posse together and go watch it. Worse comes to worse, I'll have to drag my brother or my three best friends, me, myself and I to go watch it.

School has recently been reopened again, much to my brother's delight, due to the fact last year was his last year in high school. He even wanted to ride up to SMI and sit at the bus stop laughing at those guys still going to school. Heh heh heh... Maybe some of you have thought about it, especially those who particularly disliked their school days. I didn't think about it, mostly because I just wanted to get the hell outta that place. There were good teachers that students all liked, particularly our Add Maths teacher. Really nice guy. Got promoted to be the afternoon supervisor in a school miles away from Seri Putera. I can't sing much praise for the other teachers, especially those in the higher staff postions. Damn, they're assholes. I dare say I do not regret any offence I have made towards them that actually ticked them off.

Hm, come to think of it, I should head back to SP and cause them some trouble.

*malicious grin*

Peace out y'all.
