Bleeding Too Soon

Week 2 of VU has started and the lecturers waste no time in bum-fucking us. Jennifer and Muoy are being the bitches that they are, possibly even more so than before. Jason as usual is cool and still leaves everyone thinking whether his hammer leans the other way or not… I finally had a class with Haslinda this afternoon and she was a real ray of sunshine. She’s going by the book and takes it seriously but at least she’s fair.

Assignments are already handed out and due dates start to rush towards you like a lala mui to one of those edit-your-pics photo booths. Absolutely spiffing. These are the kinds of things that stop you and your promises to yourself.

Little do people actually know that it was Max Payne that came up with the term and POV of “bullet-time”, not The Matrix. Anyways, the trailer for Max Payne is out and it looks kinda alright. Alright fine, it’s hard to mask my disappointment. But still, at least it’s not all explosions and rushing scenes and flashing lights to give you a false sense of what’s coming when you punch that ticket.

Aliens are coming. For real. 'cause Nostradamus says so.

Honestly, they should have taken that guy Cade Foster(the character’s name) from First Wave. He seems to look like a better Max Payne than Wahlberg. Besides, Cade Foster has done his fair share of muttering dark tones like Max Payne while flipping through Nostradamus’ book. Ah well, who am I to say? Peace out y’all.

Restart and Reboot

Ahhh… hence cometh a new semester which thwarts thy youngling’s zest for relaxation underneath thy concrete ceiling adorned by posters of fair maidens prostrating themselves as though thy gods themselves bore witness.

Alright, that was a bit too much, yeah, but you still can’t blame a guy for trying no matter how shitty his attempts were. Whatever it is, a new semester has started and so far I’ve started off to… on some issues, on the right foot and others on limbs that shouldn’t even be used in this comparison.

Got back some good teachers and the bad ones and a nasty one. Jason and Haslinda are alright, I guess. Jennifer’s slightly strict, but fair. The ex-SBM teacher’s back teaching something again. Christ. I knew I should’ve tripped her down the stairs last semester…

Whatever it is, here’s to another great semester! May everyone get great partners for upcoming bastard projects and may the plagiarizers burn in hell! *cough* Right.

The Truth Is Freakin’ Out There. I Swear

*cue X-Files theme*

Shit… The X-Files used to freak me out so much. Hey, we were all kids back then. Watching disembodied hands grab ankles from the muddy soil was as horrifying as uh, the Drain Monster, would you believe that? *nervous laugh*

Right. Anyways… the only X-Files thing about this movie is the fact that the whole investigation is based on the visions of a pedophilic Catholic priest. The writers just had to put that, didn’t they. It’s like, synonymous already… Catholic priest… pedophilia… little boys… altar boys… See the connection? Kinda like, terrorism… brown guy… It’s blasphemy to most, but absolutely hilarious to me, the way they make fun of the whole situation. Life is short, why not make fun of it, as some people put it.

Anyways… pushing aside the psychic pedopriest, there’s nothing else X-Files-ish about the movie. Whatever that is left of the movie is just stuff you can get from a really good CSI episode. Nuff’ said. Only good part is that we see our old pals from the series, Mulder, Scully and Skinner. Oh yeah, and Zxibit’s in the movie as well. Strange, eh? Heh heh heh…

Ol’ Spiky’s Rating: 2 outta 5 – Just. Don’t. Bother.

Phew. Peace out y’all.

DARK KNIGHT

Summer Movie of '08, for sure!

Fuck… It’s one damn long movie, clocking in at 2 hours and a half! Despite it being so long, it doesn’t numb your ass ‘cause it keeps you on the edge of your seat with every sentence. Let me get this out of my way first… Everything they said about Heath Ledger’s Joker is true. He is truly, the best Joker ever made. He made it his own and it gave birth to a character that was never before this psychotic yet intelligent.

The whole movie is dominated by the Joker’s mad scheme to prove that the world is a worse place than it already is and also to kill Batman. Batman was just some other dude in the movie. He just comes in, saves the day, contemplates in a corner, whines a bit and then saves the day again. Still, Christian Bale once again proves that he is the real deal and no one can disagree with me.

This movie is by far, the best summer movie this time round. Nobody comes close. Everything about the movie is perfect. Except perhaps the time length but every scene, every second was there to make a point. The gadgets, vehicles and action sequences were tight as well. Imagine, I didn’t even care that the Tumbler blew up! Hahahhaa…

Anyways, its one movie that will blow your mind. Go watch it. For your own sake.

Ol’ Spiky’s Rating: 5/5 Perfect-o. There’s nothing I can possibly think of complaining about.

I have to admit that I loved the movie so much, I bought the Lego Batmobile (the 1st movie model, not the Tumbler). It looks so noiiiccee~! Peace out y’all!
