Gated Communities

I don't know about you guys, but it seems that these communities are getting some major flak in the media these days.

Some really deserve the flak 'cause they're blocking traffic, and most of these are in KL/PJ/SJ and basically high traffic areas where it's already bad as it is. It's gonna be as frustrating as playing NFSU with 20,000 other racers in Sunnys.

So yeah, I live in one of these gated communities. Not really a community. We really put that word to shame. It's more like a gated street. A short one at that. We have about 30 houses. Maybe less. Yeap. Gated street.

Even a short, unassuming street like ours is getting flak. We're off the main road (Jalan Kuala Kangsar) and off the service road of JKK. How out of the way can we get?!

But 'tis not the point. Right, back to the topic of flak, we're getting flak too, from an ex-MBI old dude living on the street behind ours. I can almost see his house from here, actually, seeing as the back of his house is connected to the back of some other house on my street.

A'ite... some backstory first on how our gated street thing came into existence. Unlike what's happening in KL right now, where some bastards/good samaritans are cashing in on this craze where they are resorting to extorting house owners to set up gated communities, we actually did it, as a collective, willingly and in desperation.

Why? Well... lemme see. Most of this happened while I was in Australia by the way. So, yeah, in a span of a short few months, the cars parked out of their houses were getting their windows smashed into hell. The punchline finally came a few months later when a resident was coming home and these dudes pulled up in front of his house while the gate was closing and pulled a goddamn gun on the dude. In Ipoh. Fake or not that's another issue. When you're pissing in your pants, the sudden discharge of ammonia and urea from your body does alter your perception enough to get freaked. Not a true scientific fact nor will be experimented upon for proof.

So it was decided we get guards on both ends of the street. Everyone in the neighborhood paid for it.

So this old dude is giving us major flak for this 'cause he's old. So he's allowed to be troublesome. I hope I bump into him and give the old mafacker a heart attack one day. Really, what's his problem? *sigh*

Anyways... I'm out.

Peace.
