Ngyupdate

Can't say I have much to talk about. Oh, I finished inFAMOUS by the way. Yeap, took me less than a week. It's not a perfect finish but hell, I finished it. Solid ending. Final boss fight wasn't epic at all, way too easy but the missions leading up to it were way cool. I mean, you get to chase down, like, 5 massive baloons dispersing toxic gas over the city and first off, you need to literally, bring down the thunder on it to down it's shields and later fly onto the platform to send it up into the stratosphere. I mean, how cool is that?

Seriously, at this point, the game kinda killed itself. It has 1 upped itself! You want more. You want spectacular. You want to mother'uckin' have an enemy that is worthy of bringing down the thunder on AGAIN. No. The game gives you no such oppurtunity. Sure you can bring down the thunder on the unsuspecting people of Empire City but where's the fun in that?

Anyways, while playing inFAMOUS I was thinking that Darksiders was a bad buy and was considering selling it off on eBay when I get the chance but... I'm glad I gave it a 2nd chance. I'm actually enjoying it. It's actually pretty enjoyable. The controls sometimes annoy me, like the block + counter mechanism is almost as hard to pull off as Riposte in Dissidia. Biggest piss off moment was that one event required me to kill enemies using such a skill. Fortunately I'm through that but I have to note that that was the most frustrating moment of that game for me.

Anyhoo... tomorrow's the 16th of March. Which is the release date for Dragon Age: Origin's expansion, Dragon Age: Awakening. I am definitely not going to buy the PS3 version because I like games as such on the PC. Sure I like SOME RPGS on the PS but... not something from Bioware, seeing as I've played some of their games on the PC already and I like how it plays out.

Speaking of which, I really should go get Mass Effect 1 and 2. It's another epic Bioware RPG. Western RPGs (most of the time) lack the depth of JRPGs and effort put into storytelling, but that's all changing. I mean, Dragon Age was amazing. Solid as hell. KOTOR 1 and 2... well, it does it's job for itself... Whatever that means.

Ah. I'm rambling again.

You know there are days when I wonder if anyone reads this junk and whether I should just give this up, as it is starting to become more and more of a burden for me. Nah, I realize I'm here to provide everyone who manages to get their hands on this blog's URL deserves a healthy dose of sarcasm and vulgar language that they themselves could not dispense in the sanctity of their own world.

Okay, enough of the fucking around. I've got shit to study.

Whoever that's reading this right now. Peace be with you.

Uh... peace?

Yeap. Peace.

inFAMOUS

For those of you that are not aware. I am a proud owner of a PS3 now. I can already see the comments telling me to buy games like FIFA, Winning Eleven, the latest not-so-final Final Fantasy 13 and dare I say Bioshock 2?

FF13. I'm gonna wait on the reviews. IGN, Gamespot, whatever. Everyone. Amateur ones even. 'cause after 8... and I had a hard time swallowing 8, it all went to bleeding hell and became FF the Sidequest.

Anyways, I'm here today to talk about one of the games I bought alongside my spanking new PS3, inFAMOUS.

It's not a very recent game nor is it too old, but it shows what the PS3 is capable of, in graphical terms. It's a very beautiful game at that. The way the lightning bolts shoot out of Cole's hand and onto those pesky Reapers and how they fly while being coated in a bright electrical net... amazing.

Voice acting's alright. Doesn't leave you cringing or anything. I've played some games with HORRENDOUS voice acting. Repetitive and monotone voices that try to sound cool that fail epicly.

Gameplay. At first I hated inFAMOUS because there was no auto-aim function but now I've gotten used to the aiming and the moving and so on. The moves provided also give you a lot more freedom when it comes to fighting as the moves become either more accurate, explosive or downright just friggin' awesome. Seeing as inFAMOUS is a sandbox game, travelling style for a city landscape must be hard, right? No. No cars. Nothing. Just pure, electrifying grinding on power lines and train tracks. Awesome.

Story's good. I've read bits and pieces here and there, I get the gist of it but I think there's more to it so it kinda keeps you guessing. The story's divided up by the amount of storyline missions you take. Basically the world just stops when you're doing everything else, whether it's collecting Blast Shards (think GTA Hidden Packages),  gunning down random gang members that threaten the peace or doing side missions to take back the city. The karma system ultimately decides which ending you get, but does little else to the storyline along the way. I was hoping your choices in the game would affect a lot more than it does right now but meh... I'm not too heartbroken about it.

In the end, it's a solid game and worth whatever needed to pay for these original games these days. I'm still all for piracy but I suppose these days you can only rely on that for things that aren't too complex like making Blu-Ray discs or cars. You can always rely on it for soft copies for movies, TV series, music and shoes with funny names.

A'ite then. I'm off. Remember, March 16th -  God of War 3 is out. Pity this ain't Aussieland otherwise I would've booked that mafacker by now and got all those sweet pre-booked goodies.

Peace.

Gated Communities

I don't know about you guys, but it seems that these communities are getting some major flak in the media these days.

Some really deserve the flak 'cause they're blocking traffic, and most of these are in KL/PJ/SJ and basically high traffic areas where it's already bad as it is. It's gonna be as frustrating as playing NFSU with 20,000 other racers in Sunnys.

So yeah, I live in one of these gated communities. Not really a community. We really put that word to shame. It's more like a gated street. A short one at that. We have about 30 houses. Maybe less. Yeap. Gated street.

Even a short, unassuming street like ours is getting flak. We're off the main road (Jalan Kuala Kangsar) and off the service road of JKK. How out of the way can we get?!

But 'tis not the point. Right, back to the topic of flak, we're getting flak too, from an ex-MBI old dude living on the street behind ours. I can almost see his house from here, actually, seeing as the back of his house is connected to the back of some other house on my street.

A'ite... some backstory first on how our gated street thing came into existence. Unlike what's happening in KL right now, where some bastards/good samaritans are cashing in on this craze where they are resorting to extorting house owners to set up gated communities, we actually did it, as a collective, willingly and in desperation.

Why? Well... lemme see. Most of this happened while I was in Australia by the way. So, yeah, in a span of a short few months, the cars parked out of their houses were getting their windows smashed into hell. The punchline finally came a few months later when a resident was coming home and these dudes pulled up in front of his house while the gate was closing and pulled a goddamn gun on the dude. In Ipoh. Fake or not that's another issue. When you're pissing in your pants, the sudden discharge of ammonia and urea from your body does alter your perception enough to get freaked. Not a true scientific fact nor will be experimented upon for proof.

So it was decided we get guards on both ends of the street. Everyone in the neighborhood paid for it.

So this old dude is giving us major flak for this 'cause he's old. So he's allowed to be troublesome. I hope I bump into him and give the old mafacker a heart attack one day. Really, what's his problem? *sigh*

Anyways... I'm out.

Peace.

Blame It On The Pop

First off, I'd like to thank (and damn) Rikaz for  showing this to me. I've already posted this on Facebook but I know some of you wouldn't go on unless you have absolutely nothing better to do. I see nods there in the background. Yeap.

Anyways, here it is. United States of Pop 2009 by DJ Earworm. It's a mash-up of all the top 25 songs of 2009 according to the Billboard Top 100. What's a mash-up you ask? Watch and find out.

Turn those speakers up son!

Peace.
