Deeper Into the Inferno

I’m sure most of us are now aware of the recent tragedy which involved a Sarawakian student to be burnt alive while being helplessly pinned in her own vehicle (a solid paper MyVi, at that).

And to be absolutely honest, I kinda hate dick-riding on recent news but this was just one thought I’d like to share.

Everyone’s all fired up at the behaviour of the two petrol station attendant’s behaviour towards one Mr. Teo’s plea for a fire extinguisher to try to put out the fire on this woman’s vehicle.

Okay, sure those dudes were pricks, no questions. But are they the real murderers? On the surface, sure, ‘cause they didn’t know any better but can they be blamed? Not totally, no.

In this messed up time and society we live in, one can’t help but not trust the person next to them. Con cases, rape, murder and robberies are reported in the papers every day. Who can we trust but ourselves these days? The true murderers here are these people that have caused us to lose faith and trust among our fellow man.

The doubt that Mr. Teo’s alleged claims at that time would always be there, regardless but it is this lost faith and trust that made none of these gas attendants to step out, and claim responsibility for whatever that may happen later on due to his actions. It is that lost spark of trust that the few unscrupulous people have taken away from us in the long run. It’s not the money or anything. Those things pale in comparison to the long term effects these people have caused.

And these are the real murderers here. For this woman, for every person that has died because someone else didn’t lend a hand due to fear and for every person in the future that will die because someone couldn’t stand up and trust another with no basis.

Burn, and rot in hell you mafackers.

Peace
