Day 2 - The Sea of Flowers

Well, after a fitful sleep, the hotel we were staying at provided breakfast in bed... For whatever it's worth. Heh.

The nice boss from BVLGARI gave us a lift to the studio to change and do our make up and whatnot. Let's skip all that and go to the Sea of Flowers! About 30-45 minutes drive from Taichung...

It really was a sea of flowers. From what I gathered, there is a fee to be paid if you wanted to take pre-wedding photos at the venue but it ain't that expensive... About 200-300 yuan per person. Ain't that bad.

Once we were done, we headed over to the old railway station to take more shots. As much as I love the shots there, I'll save them for myself...

Right after that, we were shipped back to the photo studio for a brief lunch (more economy rice and bubble tea XD) and then we were told we would be taken to the night market in Taichung later at abour 6/7 p.m. So when we headed back to the hotel, we got ready anyways because we were exhausted from the photoshoot. Funnily once we just got done, the hotel called to tell us the boss was downstairs with his Merc again waiting to bring us out.

Good timing, I say. So off we went to this Taichung night market.

But not before he went to treat us another Taiwan specialty: Pork rib rice. To be honest we weren't really hungry nor interested in these sit down meal food. We just wanted STREET FOOD! So let's skip this tosh and move on!

Food was immensely impressive. Loads of it we've only seen, maybe even tried in Malaysia but nothing comes close to the explosive taste of proper, proper street food in the heart of motherfucking Taiwan!

MORE PHOTOS!

Truly a spectacular place and a must visit!

So that pretty much wraps up our Day 2 in Taiwan, which, was pretty much visiting the Sea of Flowers and the biggest night market in Taiwan because we totally couldn't finish it whereas the ones in Taipei were easy to finish walking around in

Stay tuned for Day 3 in Taiwan where we take a short trip to Sun Moon Lake and did... very little as most of the time was just traveling.

Peace out y'all!

Day 1 - Takeoff to TAIWAN!

I'd like to clarify some back story before we go into the details of the next first few days.

1. This is a pre-wedding photoshoot travel package by a Taiwanese company that approached us in Jusco Ipoh
2. We had already booked a pre-wedding photoshoot package with a local studio (My Story Photography)
3. This was our honeymoon trip ;)
4. The general itinerary (geographically) was Taichung (Day 1+2), Sun Moon Lake (Day 3), Ching Jing Mountain (Day 4), Taipei (Day 5,6 and 7) and we left Taipei on Day 8 (29/12/2013)
5. I'm a toy collector for those who don't know, so we visit a lot of these places whenever we're in a city =D

This, is more of a personal diary to remember the shit we did and what we ate and did and whatnot, not for entertaining people or whatever. Also I personally wanted to write something for those who are interested in going to Taiwan since me and my wife mostly consulted other people's blogs for recommendations and previews of places we were likely to encounter. So yeah... This' about sharing information and giving some back to the net. Let's get the ball rolling!

So right off the bat, we set off from Malaysia in an MAS 737, a small 3 - 3 seat per row plane slightly before 10 and reach before 4 at Taoyuan International Airport. There's no need for visa for Malaysians so we don't need any prior paperwork.

However, we didn't fill in the address of the place we were staying at in the landing card and we didn't think we needed to fill in that part so we didn't ask BVLGARI (no relation), the aforementioned Taiwanese wedding photography studio, for any details on this. Immigration pointed us to the side counter for Diplomats/Crew/Whatever people. Dude called up a BVLGARI representative and sorted this issue in a jiff. And off we were to baggage claim. No fuss there.

My advice here is to try to get a SIM card as soon as possible if you have a contact in Taiwan or if you're travelling in a group, get enough SIMs so you can contact each other. What we did was we put that off until we reached Taichung since we were just interested in establishing contact with BVLGARI in Taichung and we both had international roaming on anyways.

So, since we were heading to Taichung off the bat, we had five choices of transport:

1. High speed railtrain (estimated travel time >1 hour)
2. Coach (KNOWN travel time >2 hours - DON'T FUCKING BOTHER)
3. Walk (estimated travel time >7 days)
4. Taxi (estimated travel time <2 br="" hours="">5. Teleportation (estimated travel time <1 p="" second="">
Since taxi was guaranteed an expensive trip seeing as Taichung was pretty much 100++ kms away from Taoyuan (I guess, by experience), we didn't even bother. We asked a bus ticket counter and they advised us to take the bus because apparently travelling via train is a bit messy due to a station change whereas a bus is straight journey.

The thought of us lugging luggage was nighmarish during the station change so a straight journey was a smashing idea in our exhaustion and excitement. So yeah, we took the bus. Foolishly.

It was a 2 hour plus journey by bus while they screened Fast 6 in the bus. Ironic in an old coach but whatevs, man.

We reached Taichung at like 7-8 p.m and were dropped off near Taiching station. Honestly, I have no idea what station it was specifically. MRT? LRT? High speed rail? Doubt it. We waited a bit and soaked in the sights at the station... A vibrant city, and the station introduced us to the 7-11 of Taiwan. A far shout from its Malaysian counterpart.... This one had so much different drinks, and served so much microwave meals and ODEN. Fuck. Yes.

Whatever it is, we waited quite a bit and then the BVLGARI driver took us to the shop to select our clothes for tomorrow's shoot and the venue and also treated us to their local fare: their Taiwanese bento (M'sian economy rice) and classic Pearl Milk Tea.

Had to laugh out due to the irony that I'm served their local specialty while I'm selling it back in Ipoh!

Whatever it is, after we chose our attire and venue for the next day of photoshooting, we were sent to our hotel room for the next two nights. To be honest, I can't be of much help in this department because most names were in Mandarin lettering and I can't read it.

Once we were dropped off, we went out straight to explore the night markets of Taichung. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the night market. We were quite impressed with the food we had there as the locals told us that Taichung's night markets were better than Taipei's due to that fact that Taipei, being a popular tourist destination, Taipei's night market's have evolved  (or devolved) to accommodate foreign tastes and sensibilities, which I think is a crime.

Whatever it is, we spent most of the time sampling local favorites like their sausages, fried squid, drinks and whatnot.

Topped off the night with some Japanese kebab... thingies. Grilled mushrooms, tofu and meat. Not a bad fare and miso soup for that cold winter night is just awesome.

So that's pretty much it for Day 1! Stay tuned for Day 2... Our photoshoot in the "Sea of Flowers" and in an old railway station and after that, the boss of BVLGARI takes us out to dinner and sets us loose on the largest (no exaggeration) night market in Taichung!

Thanks for reading and safe travels.

Peace out y'all!

Dragon Age 2

It’s been like... SERIOUSLY been awhile since I’ve blogged but in life, especially modern life, as of these past decade, some things can’t be expressed in a space of 200 characters or less or totally in a Facebook status, believe it or not! =P

I think there’s a lot to get out at this juncture, and I think is not appropriate to address the catching up news in a post that I intend to make as a review!

Anyways, I purchased, or rather, got Dragon Age 2 as an early birthday present from my mum, amongst other things, bless her... I’ve gone through 2 playthroughs as it is, 1st time as a Rogue, which was pretty much the only way to get through the first Dragon Age, maximizing battle potential and storyline-wise anyways... And the 2nd time as a two-handed warrior, as in the 1st Dragon Age, two-handed warriors were insufferable because a normal attack took ages to happen... They literally calculated real world physics into the swing of a giant sword, dear Lord... Therefore, I wanted to have the feel of a two-handed warrior which swings it like bloody Cloud, so I tried playing one in DA2!

Okay, right off the bat, I have to say I was disappointed. Sure, you get to choose gender and class, but Origins (DA1), had origin (hence the title) stories for each and every race and caste they were in... And also a separate one for mages, too. So you can see where the disappointment comes from, the limitation, and the similar backstory for all playthroughs with some very, very minor differences... So hero design, fail.

NPC design... Some old faces return, companions, NPCs, all that good stuff. But still, vastly reduced by comparison! Yes, I know, DA1 had a whole country for you to explore but DA2 consists of just a city maybe ¾ of Denerim AND it’s backyard but this is just unacceptable... NPC design, though preying on nostalgia and nothing more that actually sticks to your mind, fail.

Dungeon design. Oh, this riles me up... Terrible, right off the bat. Repetitive dungeons, and the laziest kind that game developers can come up with... The same HUGE dungeon, but cut off at various intervals or changed entry points and the such. Each cave looks the same. Each sewer looks the same. Some of the houses are changed up. What up with that Bioware?! FAIL!

Story... A’ite... Not so steamed up, but the story takes place over a span of 10 years. 10 years our hero Hawke has spent in Kirkwall, from refugee to Champion of Kirkwall. There is SOME change over the acts... 3 acts in total. The beginning is where our hero escapes from his hometown of Lothering, which was the first settlement to fall during the events of DA1, makes his stamp in the underground of Lothering through a year of servitude under a shady organization of their choosing. The 1st act is where Hawke starts to get his merry band of fools together, into the Deep Roads for an expedition to get rich. This can prove to be bittersweet, or totally sweet depending on your prior decisions and there is no way of knowing until it happens, so no warning! I won’t spoil the rest for you, and also due to the fact I can’t be fucked to type the rest up, but one thing I have to bitch about is the lack of change in 10 years to a city. Sure, you foil an invasion and the such, but locales stay the same, geographically the same, nothing new pops up. No new shops, nothing. It’s 10 freaking years. Something. Anything! 10 years is enough for an old character to pass away, for a kid to be born and such... Come on! But still, enjoyable, but not as enjoyable, nor as epic as DA1 but... Pass.

Elaboration/Side note: Dragon Age 2 feels like the Back to the Future 2 or the Two Towers, if you please, to Dragon Age 1... It’s meant as a bridge, not a pretty one, but an essential bridge nonetheless. No one would pick the middle episode as the best of the trilogy or something, you know? BTTF2 was terrible. I hated it. LOTR’s Two Towers, was once again, an essential bridge. Not as heart-touching or enjoyable as the Fellowship nor as epic as Return of the King. Hawke’s deed to the world of the DA universe has no doubt epic repercussions, as he has brought a war on that the greater forces in the universe need him to put an end to.

Next! Design, weapons, armor, architecture, companions, quests. A very general topic but has so many sub topics. Weapons. Passable. Thought I would loved at least a bloody tone change like the last game in the color of the weapon especially when it’s of another material. More unique weapons and unique weapon designs. Some old designs were brought back... In terms of clothing and weapons, same models in the old game, but armor-wise, it’s all new. The Champion armor (for all classes) is fantastic, though me, amongst every other player wish that the acquisition could be a lot more satisfying and meaningful. Architecture, yes, you’re in a city, there’s limited space, bla bla blee ba... But man, I miss that feeling of epicness when I walked into Ostagar for the 1st time... Such, grandeur... It was the same feeling you get when you saw the cities in Return of the King. Just bloody epic. Not here. COMPANIONS! Hah... A colourful cast, but easily identifiable into modern stereotypes, not so much complication and not too hard to predict their behaviour and what actions you should do around them to gain their approaval... Very weak, in my opinion. In DA1, you actually had to learn and be astounded at their histories. You yearned for their approval as their life stories as just so god damn interesting you just gotta know more! But in DA2, really now... I know where this is going... *snore* Quests! Kill this person, get this item. Been there. Done that. The storyline quests feel like you can jump off the rails too often and it’s not a good feeling. It starts to feel more necessary than essential, you know... More like something you need to do rather than something you want to do! So... Design wise... Pass overall.

So? In the end... Dragon Age 2 is a mere pass. 3.1 out of 5 and that is piss poor for a PS3 game that is worth RM100++... I really should’ve waited and did my research but no, my love for the original DA got me there... *sigh* That’ll teach me. Anyways, it’s probably expected, as Bioware is going balls out for their WoW-replacing MMORPG, the Knights of the Old Republic. Kind of like how Blizzard is ignoring everything else (Starcraft Ghost *cough* Diablo 3 *cough*) and focusing on milking more and more from WoW.

Alright, I guess that’s my comeback piece. A rant, on Dragon Age 2. Something I really needed to get out. Peace out y’all!

Gatzooks. Just A Title.

Holy motherfucking ass balls. Wait, did I open with this in my last post? Sorry... Let's go with ass monkey's on a pirate's scheneider! Fantastic...

And welcome to another edition of Beneath the Thorns with your host, YOOOONNNGGG!!!

The things I'd give for a gameshow host introduction whenever I walk into a room.

Anyways. Wow. Time flies when you're having brill fun, eh? It's after Merdeka! To be precise, it's fucking September already. Mooncake festival's in like a month's time... Can't believe it's gonna be a year since we were all happily fucking around in Pui Yee's house, having steamboat and playing with lanterns and watching the Moon move! Oh shittt... I totally forgot about that one...

I'm on sem break right now... Going back coming Saturday to Sunway 'cause me mum bought tickets for this Sesame Street play way back and now it's here... Show's gonna be at Bukit Jalil Stadium... the indoor part... exactly where the 30 Hour Famine finale was. Dear Lord... bad memories. Still, I don't wanna tarnish anything anymore relating to that horrid Apocalypse-level event anymore than I already have. Finito. Nada.

Went to Penang on 30th August. Yeah, Merdeka eve but didn't stay long enough to do shit... Luckily at least this time me and my girl managed to do most of the things tourist get to do in Penang... visit a few places and grab some local delicacies... Booya!

I finally visited the Toy Museum! =D

Won't be posting the photos here 'cause the process is just too tedious and I just can't be fucked anymore really... Will be up on Facebook no worries!

A'ite... gonna head out for lunch soon. I'm out bitches. Peace

How It Be Going?

Holy motherfucking ass balls. I just checked the date of my last update and god damn... I've been procrastinating worse than Ace Venture on the rent!

Anyways, the important thing is that I am here and updating! Alright... what's been happening in the world of Yoong, you ask? Not much.

I am officially back in Indahvilla. This is week 4 of VU and I've already handed my first assignment. The PS3 is also in Indahvilla so it's getting a good workout from the lads, particularly in the GTA4 and the Fifa departments. I don't play the latter but the former, I just love watching them lads play around and mow down every simpering simpleton in the virtual city of Liberty.

Speaking of Los PS3, I've revived my gaming life... by purchasing two new PS3 games. First off, LOST PLANET 2, on a whimsical recommendation and SPIDERMAN:WEB OF SHADOWS after months of research and craving. I've come to pass as a real PS3 junkie due to the fact that I find it disappointing that Spiderman: WoS does not have any trophies! What the fuck is up with that son? Anyways, it is still a very satisfying game and the combat mechanics vary a lot between the Red Suit and the Black Suit Spiderman and yet provides a very fun way of mixing matching your moves to the point that it is all in one fluid, dynamic attack.

LOST PLANET 2 however, was a real gem with a lot of replayability. Why? Just the multiplayer, that's it! You can play pretty much the whole game in multiplayer. I am serious! Just the campaign... you don't have to finish it off by yourself! You can team up with 3 other dudes on the PS Network and take on the whole campaign, just like that. To top that shit off, the campaign itself is awesome... the storyline's not stellar but epic for sure, due to the sheer hours involved and the effort in there.

Honestly I actually had a lot more to write in this post but now I'm just feeling lazy, and hungry and bottomline is I can't be fucked at the moment... So I'll be back soon enough folks... Peace!

For The Sake of Updating

This blog is not a bother. It as an outlet. It started out as an outlet and that outlet is starting to clog with the moss and grime which are made of touchy people a.k.a li'l bitches, social ethics a.k.a feelings and of course, moral standards a.k.a acting like a total tool when the situation demands it.

Who am I kidding? Hahahahaha... Like that shit will ever stop me. Moss and grime? If bleach don't cut it, we move on to the next thing, NAPALM!

Fuck yeah.

A'ite... jokes aside. Well, let's see... I haven't posted anything solid for the past few times... No game reviews, no movie reviews, nothing... Just 'cause I'm busy. Nothing more. Work, girl, family.

Ain't complaining though, I'm enjoying all 3 things... Okay fine, not that last one, not really, no, but I can't complain to be entirely fair. So yeah, I'm overall satisfied with everything but I am enjoying the 1st 2 more than the last, as usual. Very par for the course I'd say!

I've watched Karate Kid... it was way too long. Toy Story 3... Swear to God I almost cried when those bastards were about to go to the great play mat in the sky.

For the uninformed, Slash is coming to perform in Sunway on the 5th of August. I am looking for a crew to go with STILL. COME ON PEOPLE... you are (mostly) working adults! Let's go, go, go!!!

Also, for the uninformed, I am returning to Sunway on either the 14th or 15th. It's a day apart which means there's not much difference to begin with. Back for uni, for my FINAL subject, hopefully.

A'ite... I'm about to fall asleep and drool over the table right about now, so I'm gonna stop here and get some water or some shit or... whatever...

Peace

The Fear of Watermelons

I just finished this 2 day stint in this event organized by a partner company where we had this amazing treasure hunt thing 2 days ago and even though my team (which consisted of me and this girl, Jenny) finished last, it was quite an experience. Everything else was spot on and I can't believe I played the whole thing more by the book than I would normally do. In the end I found out the winner literally lied, cheated and stole his way to the top.

Gotta kick myself for totally being such a straight arrow.

The 1st challenge was a "spot the difference" challenge. We were given two pretty similar pictures that had 10 differences. The picture was Chelsea celebrating their recent Premiere League win. No problem.

The 2nd challenge was basically constructing a name of a place using the first letters of a few pictures on a piece of paper given to us. Took us some time 'cause we missed out the minuscule instructions located on the back of the paper. Shucks for me to be unobservant as always.

The 3rd challenge was to ask 5 complete strangers for a ringgit each and in the end use that money to get and eat some ice-cream from McDs. Wasn't a problem for me since we played the "damsel in distress" angle on all of 'em. Last part was pretty ingenious. We told the clown to give us as LITTLE as possible on the cone. The dude must've been so confused... Who asks for LESS?! =P

The 4th challenge was in Taman D.R Whatsisname. This... was the WORST challenge. It was a 2 part challenge. One was to finish a WHOLE GODDAMN WATERMELON. I now have a reverse-orgasm-inducing fear of watermelon. Even the thought of a slice... that red mass on a green piece just... sends chills down my spine. I used to love it. I blame these bastards for killing my love for it. At least it was watermelon, not durian. If they made me hate durians, I would have made 'em eat it... with the skin on. Anyways, 2nd part of the challenge was to complete a riddle, in MANDARIN... how discriminating... and a math problem, which those bastards wrote wrongly... Not complaining at all... things like these happen when AMATEURS conduct events like these.

The 5th challenge was a 2-parter again. 1st we had to separate soy beans (I thought it looked like so and I stick by my observation despite being told otherwise) and red beans. With chopsticks. Just imagine. Next up was a massive search effort in that garden in front of the Ipoh Train Station. *huge restraint* Our clues were so damn hidden it would've been easier and cleaner if they stuck 'em in people's ass cracks and told us to sift through the pubes to get 'em.

In the end, after all my bragging, I finished last. Yeah, yay me. Never mind... bruised egos heal faster than real bruises... which I have aplenty after my girl hit me for sticking to close to the other girl... Why'd I have to get stuck with another young thing?! Nah... didn't really get hit that bad... Hahahahaa... She was joking anyways...

Anyways, at the end of the whole goddamned challenge, I came out with a sore body that lasts to this day due to my extremely peak physical status, a parking ticket, a slightly bruised ego and a HUGE AVERSION TO WATERMELONS.

Alright, maybe a whole new appreciation for how easy the job is compared to the whole thing, but I still hate the fact that I hate watermelons now. Those cunts at that other company will pay and I swear... literally that company... is full of cunts. I'm not talking about their stellar personalities, for once, but the fact that it IS full of women. Swear to God the boss is running an underground harem up in that place.

Nah, but seriously, bad jokes (wait, I have no bad jokes) aside, they were really nice... Good people that did good jobs and extremely superb effort on the whole event. That said, I still hate you people for giving me a fear of watermelons. A'ite... since the rotund consultant is up in Ipoh Mali this weekend, I gotta be heading off for some off-the-clock training. *sigh*

Time to get my organic vocabulator turned upside down again...

Peace!

In a Bed of Roses

Where there are roses, there are thorns. It's been a long hard climb through the tower of thorns and it's a very satisfying feeling as I lay in a bed of roses right next to you.

This tower of thorns adorned with a crown of roses is yours...

Deeper Into the Inferno

I’m sure most of us are now aware of the recent tragedy which involved a Sarawakian student to be burnt alive while being helplessly pinned in her own vehicle (a solid paper MyVi, at that).

And to be absolutely honest, I kinda hate dick-riding on recent news but this was just one thought I’d like to share.

Everyone’s all fired up at the behaviour of the two petrol station attendant’s behaviour towards one Mr. Teo’s plea for a fire extinguisher to try to put out the fire on this woman’s vehicle.

Okay, sure those dudes were pricks, no questions. But are they the real murderers? On the surface, sure, ‘cause they didn’t know any better but can they be blamed? Not totally, no.

In this messed up time and society we live in, one can’t help but not trust the person next to them. Con cases, rape, murder and robberies are reported in the papers every day. Who can we trust but ourselves these days? The true murderers here are these people that have caused us to lose faith and trust among our fellow man.

The doubt that Mr. Teo’s alleged claims at that time would always be there, regardless but it is this lost faith and trust that made none of these gas attendants to step out, and claim responsibility for whatever that may happen later on due to his actions. It is that lost spark of trust that the few unscrupulous people have taken away from us in the long run. It’s not the money or anything. Those things pale in comparison to the long term effects these people have caused.

And these are the real murderers here. For this woman, for every person that has died because someone else didn’t lend a hand due to fear and for every person in the future that will die because someone couldn’t stand up and trust another with no basis.

Burn, and rot in hell you mafackers.

Peace

Hello and Goodbye

Hey, how's it going people? Just wanted to write a blog post so you, my dearest fans and some... *cough* loyal subjects *glares menacingly at them* can have something interesting to read today.

I can't really promise if there will be anything interesting to read but sure, I'll just spit out whatever that's on the top of my head right now.

My brother recently told me about a "Weird Newscasters" game clip from Whose Line, that basically has the 4 dudes, acting out as different people from the newsteam. Ryan is the weatherman, Wayne is the sports guy, Colin is the lead anchor and the guest is the co-anchor. Everyone but Colin has a character. In this particular clip, Ryan is a really old man that takes a fast-acting youth rejuvenation pill. The guest in this clip is Greg Proops, and he is a German insult comic. The focus here is on Wayne, who is a girl scout selling cookies who is possessed by the Devil. For some reason, when my brother acted it out for me, it sounded WAY funnier than how Wayne Brady did it! I mean... This isn't the 1st time! He acts out funny scenes, or a line, and it sounds much better than the original! EVERYTIME! Hahahaha... Really, I don't know what to make out of it.

A'ite... next up... Gaming-wise, I've really mellowed out. I haven't touched the PS3 in weeks. I know. The shame. The waste! But soon! I mean, I've tackled GOW3... that's usually the baddest shit that system can handle but this one... I don't know. GTA4 was short... REALLY short compared to San Andreas. Totally wish I could get San Andreas for the PS3, really. Old is gold, mate. Old is gold.

I got a new phone, actually, for the uninformed ones. It's an iPhone. I know. Total hypocrite. After all the trash talking about it being overrated and overly expensive and wouldn't want to jump on the bandwagon and shit. Okay. I did it. I got it. But here's my defence. My phone busted itself all of sudden. There was no forewarning whatsoever. It just died on me one day and that day was during some training. Grand. I panicked. I wasn't prepared and I went to get the one phone that I had the most knowledge about, the iPhone. And since my brother got it, I might as well get it. Yeah, that's NOT really an excuse.

Today all my friends and classmates from the same batch are graduating today, in Melbourne. Not all my friends, actually. Just most of the people I chilled with in Melbourne. Yeah. Actually, it's just Elly and Palm. And Daniel. And who's that other dude? There's one more dude. Some moron. Eric... Yeah... Idiot. I actually just deleted a whole paragraph below that just blasted this dude. Feeling generous today. You get off lucky, bitch.

Yeah, it's kinda sad. I'm not graduating. Yet. No matter how I look at it, I'm not graduating. Nuff' said. Yeah, I'm not getting into a hopeless road of trudging and dragging my feet for another 23 years yet... but it's not like that's not inevitable!

Anyhoo... Enough sappiness. Here's to a good week ahead. Cheers!

Peace

Ip Man 2

Written: AGES AGO

After the 1st Ip Man... I was eager to see the next one, if there was one and a few months back, I caught wind that Ip Man 2 was to be shown around the same time as Iron Man 2. Oh... the choices. Unfortunately, due to the closeness of name and release dates of the 2 movies, lame ass foos started to go trigger happy with their Photoshop programmes and made some "amusing" posters which fuse Shellhead with Ip Man.

Har de har har.

Oh, let me go... I'm in stitches. Oh, my sides. They hurt. Oh. Hahahaha...

*cough*

Right.

Anyhoo... I didn't make any plans whatsoever to watch Ip Man 2 but my boss did so I was kinda dragged along to watch it. Yeap. Just me and the BAWS. He took me to the movies... LIKE A BAWS.

Still don't get it? Crud. You're a lot dumber than you look and that's saying something! =P

Anyhoo... I'm just gonna cut it short. PERSONALLY, I felt that Ip Man 1 was better and Sammo Hung trying to get some limelight on his aging ass was totally uncalled for, even though it was a true story or whatever. Fights, they're alright. Nothing tight like the 1st Ip Man where he beat 10 TKD opponents. Classic kung fu shit right there.

Ol' Spiky's Rating: 2/5 Could've been better. Much better.

I know this review's been long overdue but yeah... things have happened. For those that're unaware, I just got out of the hospital. No need to panic... just a itty bitty kidney stone. Stayed overnight and got out the next day with meds to take care of the damned thing. Almost at 100% and my next doctor's appointment is this coming Tuesday. So yeap... No need to sound the alarm. Thanks for the concern from whoever that knew/found out and wished me well.

I'm out.

Peace.

Gin & Juice

I don't know why "Gin & Juice", just felt like giving props to Snoop. It's a great song. Real balla. You should check it out some time.

Nothing much to talk about... sitting in office right now, bummin' out like you can see.

Let's just say... past few days have been the happiest days of my life and I get the feeling it's about to get better.

One thing, after all the trash-talk, I finally got an iPhone. Okay, finally... no... lemme rephrase that. I got an iPhone. Period. Seems quite cool so far but compared to any other phone... the lack of customization options is heartbreaking! Maybe I'm better off jailbreaking that shit. We'll see.

Haven't touched the PS3 for quite a long time now, despite there being a new game sitting on the table (Burnout Paradise). It's not mine. Jin dropped it off seeing as he took my inFamous and GOW3 for a bit.

Let's see... what else's new... Okay, gotta watch Ip Man 2 for sure! Just gotta find a crowd to go with but it seems the usual people have been booked! Boo...

No worries... I'm out.

Iron Man 2

Finally. After months of waiting, Iron Man 2 is finally here and better yet, we're watching this shit ahead of some other countries a week earlier! Nooiicceeee...

Some of my rather *cough* active female friends expressed interest in Tony Stark. When I mean interest, I mean like, INTEREST. I'm afraid to use any other words to be a bit more clearer but I wish to keep my anatomy intact, thank you very much.

Anyhoo... Iron Man 2. Wow. This is going to be a real biased review because I am a HUGE Iron Man fan to begin with but I will try to be as straight as possible. Let's see... common knowledge, everyone from the 1st movie reprises their role except for the role of Rhodey 'cause well... Terrence Howard was a li'l bitch. Never did like the dude as Rhodey anyways. Besides, Don Cheadle is the shit. I mean... Ocean's 11-13 man. Nuff' said son.

Like Suheil *just* told me... movies like these... you look past the storyline 'cause you know you came to watch this not for the storyline. U expect amazing CGI, amazing chicks, and amazing explosions that will literally blow your mafacking mind. A'ite, Scarlett was tight as usual but wish they gave her more of a chance to strut her stuff as the Black Widow, and at least use a BLEEDING Russian accent! Still, some justice is served when she took her top off in the car.

Pepper Potts looked so... normal. So drab as usual. Pity.

Ol' Spiky's Rating: 4/5 Could be better. Heaps better. But I'm a fan. Seeing him shoot off a repulsor blast is all I need.

Peace.

HYPER GRIN

First and foremost I apologize for the lack of originality on the post titles but hell... when I'm this happy, I don't give a shit. It's a beautiful world don't you agree? Even at 5 a.m, you're starving and b'fast isn't for another 3 hours, it's still a beautiful world.

Peace

Rear-Ended

I guess everyone, will come to a point where they get into an accident. Major or minor. I'm just glad that I got into a minor one, and that I was totally innocent.

My only regret is that I didn't get to rearrange the cunt's face that caused the whole thing. Bleeding foo wasn't drunk or high as far as I can tell but I suppose you don't need to be intoxicated to be called stupid, now do you?

I should've at least punched him or chewed him out verbally 'cause I didn't realize what other consequences there were left regarding the repair of my car. Of course, Malaysia's Finest could be a lot more helpful and useful too. Bloody patrol car passed by, didn't even stop. Nothing. Real nice. Do your goddamned job before you go arresting people. Probably have to arrest yourself for doing half the stuff you arresting other people for in the first place. Damn.

The dude that started all this... maaannn... stupid ass Myvi-driving mafacker. At least his pathetic ass ride's totalled. Had to be towed all the way to the station. Dumb ass mafacker. Maybe he should stop sucking on the gov's titties like every other foo sibling of his and actually go get a license.

Still wish I had broke his nose or something. Fuck that mafacker. Hope he pays hell for the claims we're about to make. Terminate his policy and shit. Raise his premium. Yeah. Bitch.

I'm out.

Peace.

Glorious Day

Ah yes... I woke up this morning, logged in to soccer.net and the news couldn't have looked sweeter. Manchester United is out of the Champions League.

Nuff' said son. Nuff' said.

Anyways, I do apologize for not blogging a lot more these days since some of you, and there's a really small amount actually, that are still under the impression I'm still on my extended holiday. I'm working now but I've promised myself to keep my work life out of my blogging to a bare and near non-existent minimum.

Yeap... so anyways. PS3 news. I've completed Infamous and Darksiders. I've got to admit that I've done so much with Darksiders that I think I've broken my record for dedication towards a non Sims game. Yeap.

Good news that is that I have finally (though this piece of news is WAY late) is that I've bought GOW3 (R1 version) and GTA4! I've finished God of War 3 on Easy once already and I'm already on my 2nd playthrough. I promise that a review for God of War 3 is to be posted in the near future, providing that I can tear myself away from GTA4 long enough!

Let's see... other than that... what else is there? Not much, but I'll be heading up to KL this coming Sunday to meet loads of people. This is slightly work related but essentially it is an excuse to go and chill out with the bastards at Indahvilla and shit like that. Hahahahaha...

A'ite then.

Peace.

Ngyupdate

Can't say I have much to talk about. Oh, I finished inFAMOUS by the way. Yeap, took me less than a week. It's not a perfect finish but hell, I finished it. Solid ending. Final boss fight wasn't epic at all, way too easy but the missions leading up to it were way cool. I mean, you get to chase down, like, 5 massive baloons dispersing toxic gas over the city and first off, you need to literally, bring down the thunder on it to down it's shields and later fly onto the platform to send it up into the stratosphere. I mean, how cool is that?

Seriously, at this point, the game kinda killed itself. It has 1 upped itself! You want more. You want spectacular. You want to mother'uckin' have an enemy that is worthy of bringing down the thunder on AGAIN. No. The game gives you no such oppurtunity. Sure you can bring down the thunder on the unsuspecting people of Empire City but where's the fun in that?

Anyways, while playing inFAMOUS I was thinking that Darksiders was a bad buy and was considering selling it off on eBay when I get the chance but... I'm glad I gave it a 2nd chance. I'm actually enjoying it. It's actually pretty enjoyable. The controls sometimes annoy me, like the block + counter mechanism is almost as hard to pull off as Riposte in Dissidia. Biggest piss off moment was that one event required me to kill enemies using such a skill. Fortunately I'm through that but I have to note that that was the most frustrating moment of that game for me.

Anyhoo... tomorrow's the 16th of March. Which is the release date for Dragon Age: Origin's expansion, Dragon Age: Awakening. I am definitely not going to buy the PS3 version because I like games as such on the PC. Sure I like SOME RPGS on the PS but... not something from Bioware, seeing as I've played some of their games on the PC already and I like how it plays out.

Speaking of which, I really should go get Mass Effect 1 and 2. It's another epic Bioware RPG. Western RPGs (most of the time) lack the depth of JRPGs and effort put into storytelling, but that's all changing. I mean, Dragon Age was amazing. Solid as hell. KOTOR 1 and 2... well, it does it's job for itself... Whatever that means.

Ah. I'm rambling again.

You know there are days when I wonder if anyone reads this junk and whether I should just give this up, as it is starting to become more and more of a burden for me. Nah, I realize I'm here to provide everyone who manages to get their hands on this blog's URL deserves a healthy dose of sarcasm and vulgar language that they themselves could not dispense in the sanctity of their own world.

Okay, enough of the fucking around. I've got shit to study.

Whoever that's reading this right now. Peace be with you.

Uh... peace?

Yeap. Peace.

inFAMOUS

For those of you that are not aware. I am a proud owner of a PS3 now. I can already see the comments telling me to buy games like FIFA, Winning Eleven, the latest not-so-final Final Fantasy 13 and dare I say Bioshock 2?

FF13. I'm gonna wait on the reviews. IGN, Gamespot, whatever. Everyone. Amateur ones even. 'cause after 8... and I had a hard time swallowing 8, it all went to bleeding hell and became FF the Sidequest.

Anyways, I'm here today to talk about one of the games I bought alongside my spanking new PS3, inFAMOUS.

It's not a very recent game nor is it too old, but it shows what the PS3 is capable of, in graphical terms. It's a very beautiful game at that. The way the lightning bolts shoot out of Cole's hand and onto those pesky Reapers and how they fly while being coated in a bright electrical net... amazing.

Voice acting's alright. Doesn't leave you cringing or anything. I've played some games with HORRENDOUS voice acting. Repetitive and monotone voices that try to sound cool that fail epicly.

Gameplay. At first I hated inFAMOUS because there was no auto-aim function but now I've gotten used to the aiming and the moving and so on. The moves provided also give you a lot more freedom when it comes to fighting as the moves become either more accurate, explosive or downright just friggin' awesome. Seeing as inFAMOUS is a sandbox game, travelling style for a city landscape must be hard, right? No. No cars. Nothing. Just pure, electrifying grinding on power lines and train tracks. Awesome.

Story's good. I've read bits and pieces here and there, I get the gist of it but I think there's more to it so it kinda keeps you guessing. The story's divided up by the amount of storyline missions you take. Basically the world just stops when you're doing everything else, whether it's collecting Blast Shards (think GTA Hidden Packages),  gunning down random gang members that threaten the peace or doing side missions to take back the city. The karma system ultimately decides which ending you get, but does little else to the storyline along the way. I was hoping your choices in the game would affect a lot more than it does right now but meh... I'm not too heartbroken about it.

In the end, it's a solid game and worth whatever needed to pay for these original games these days. I'm still all for piracy but I suppose these days you can only rely on that for things that aren't too complex like making Blu-Ray discs or cars. You can always rely on it for soft copies for movies, TV series, music and shoes with funny names.

A'ite then. I'm off. Remember, March 16th -  God of War 3 is out. Pity this ain't Aussieland otherwise I would've booked that mafacker by now and got all those sweet pre-booked goodies.

Peace.
